Dr. Kate Jordan

Sport & Exercise Medicine Doctor · Medical Director

Dr. Kate Jordan is a UK-trained Sport and Exercise Medicine Consultant and is on the GMC specialist register, having completed higher training in Sports Medicine. She is the current Chief Medical Officer for British Olympic Swimming and Diving and travels with the teams throughout the year. Kate has over 15 years' experience in elite sport. She worked in Athletics at the London 2012 Olympics and as a Team Doctor for the British Olympic Team in Rio 2016, Tokyo 2021, and Paris 2024. In addition to these roles, Kate works for UK Anti-Doping, is a World Rugby Medical Educator and delivers pitch-side care training for Scottish Rugby. She has previously worked with Scottish Rugby and Football teams and at the Scottish Institute of Sport.

Kate has a special interest in complex sports injuries and musculoskeletal pain, as well as in tendon injury, concussion, fatigue in athletes, overtraining syndrome and female athlete health. She is trained in musculoskeletal ultrasound and completes a variety of ultrasound-guided injections in clinic. Kate believes in the importance of listening to her patients to understand their story and allow an accurate diagnosis to be made. She practises evidence-based medicine, sharing decision-making and forms individualised treatment plans with her patients to ensure the best outcomes.

In her spare time, Kate loves to be active and get outside as much as she can with her husband and their 3 boys. Kate competed internationally for Great Britain as a swimmer in her teens and enjoys challenging herself in training; most days she can be found in the early hours before the rest of her house is awake, running on the beach track or heading for a sea swim.
